Folkhouse is delighted to present our four-part concert series, CARDINAL DIRECTIONS: a journey across four Glasgow communities located in the North, East, South, and West ends of our city. With each evening presenting a new and exciting programme for folk musicians and string orchestra, all overlaid with poetry, incredible guest artists, and new music premiers. We invite audiences join us for one or more parts of our journey, as we follow the story of a voyage, a storm, a haven, and a homecoming.
Our opening night, North Star, is a story of setting out. The first concert of our series sees us set out on an exhilarating journey. A meeting of folk and classical music for strings and accordion full of driving dance rhythms and icy harmonies will explore hopeful and joyous emotions, but also encounter moments of uncertainty and searching. The night will be full of stories, of emotions, and of gorgeous music.
